When to go: Cape Town and the area along the Garden Route are great to visit any time of year, but early summer (when the winds drop) is particularly pleasant. If you're visiting for safari, the dry winter months often are considered the best – but the wetter summer months bring full waterholes, lush bushveld and lots of newborn animals.

All of our services are private, and our close relationship with lodges and hotels will ensure that you receive the extra attention and romantic touches you deserve on your honeymoon.
Here are a few of our favorite locations below for inspiration. Just let us know when you are ready; we are here to create your perfect honeymoon to South Africa.

Luxury Honeymoon – South Africa

Cape Town

One of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town really can take your breath away. The horizon is dominated by the iconic tabletop mountain rising up in the background, with the crisp waters of the cape in the foreground and the laid-back bustle of the city’s waterfront skirted by sandy beaches and picturesque suburbs.

This is the oldest city in South Africa, steeped in history and full of beautiful buildings from its colonial past. The tall mountains and green hills surrounding the city have an immensely calming effect, making this one of the most relaxing big-city visits you are likely to experience.

Outside of the city, many attractions await that can be visited in a day trip – from the Cape of Good Hope to the rolling hills of the Winelands.

Kruger National Park

Founded in 1898 by President Paul Kruger, this national park remains one of the oldest and largest wildlife reserves in the world.

However, it’s not just the Kruger’s size or age that has distinguished it as one of Africa’s premier and consummate national parks; rather, it is this park's groundbreaking conservation philosophy and practices that have led the way for other wildlife sanctuaries – and not just in Africa.

And it’s no wonder when you think of the Kruger’s 16 different habitats, 517 species of birds, and more varieties of mammals – including the Big Five – than any other reserve. So, as it’s often said, you won’t get a better safari anywhere else.

Lying in the northeastern region of South Africa and at a size of about four million hectares, the main Kruger National Park is open to all. However, we use only lodges in private concessions and reserves bordering the park such as the Timbavati, Thornybush, and Sabi Sands, so that you can enjoy an exclusive, real safari experience and have the best-possible game viewing.

These private reserves make up the Greater Kruger Park (the wildlife is the same throughout) and possess what are often acclaimed the finest safari lodges and luxury hospitality on the continent.

Botswana

For us, Botswana offers high-quality wildlife safaris, luxury boutique accommodations, adventure, romance, privacy and more. From private concessions – where you can be the only vehicle on a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife sighting – to walking safaris, romantic makoro rides, night game drives, scenic helicopter rides and secluded private dinners … this is what you pay for.

The private concessions offer you the exclusivity that is a rare find anywhere else on the African continent. This exclusivity, combined with perhaps a few days of relaxation at the breathtaking Victoria Falls in Zambia or on the white-sand beaches of Mozambique (accessed via a flight through Johannesburg), is unbeatable.

Winelands

Just an hour's drive from Cape Town delivers you to the heart of the Winelands, where row upon row of vines cover the valleys, overlooked by mountains. The dozens of estates scattered throughout this region produce some of the world's finest wines, which you can sample on guided tours.

You can explore several wineries in one day, stopping at two or three estates to taste their produce. Some will prepare a picnic for you to enjoy in the grounds if that is something that sparks your interest!

Victoria Falls

One of the greatest attractions in Africa and one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, Victoria Falls is located on the Zambezi River, the fourth-largest river in Africa, which also defines the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Victoria Falls is the only waterfall in the world with a length of more than a kilometer and a height of more than a hundred meters. Based on its breadth and height, it also is considered to be the largest waterfall in the world.

The noise of Victoria Falls can be heard from a distance of 40 kilometers, while the spray and mist from the falling water rises to a height of more than 400 meters and can be seen from a distance of 50 kilometers. So it’s no wonder that the local tribes used to call the waterfall “Mosi-oa-Tunya,” or “the smoke that thunders.”

Think big: Let’s get romantic and go a step further to plan a magnificent helicopter ride to get that unbelievable view.
